SDSL (Symmetric Digital
Subscriber Line)

Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line (sdsl) is actually a modified HDSL software technology which is intended to provide 144 Kbps to 1.5 Mbps in both directions over a single twisted pair for T1 or E1 services. You need to keep in mind that sdsl works better over older copper wire lines than over ADSL. A great thing about sdsl is that it has the ability to support the same data rates for upstream and downstream traffic. All this means is that whether you are uploading or downloading information, you have the same high-quality performance. This characteristic of sdsl is ideal for small and medium sized businesses that have an equal need to download and upload data over the Internet.

Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line (sdsl) can be considered a true business class product. Since sdsl has symmetrical speeds it is possible to host Web or e-mail servers, and even video conferencing and e-commerce. sdsl is actually more popular in Europe than in North America, where ADSL is more popular.
